Job description

POSITION: Senior Engineer
LOCATION: Fairborn, Ohio, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base
REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE: Top Secret with ability to obtain SCI
POSITION TYPE/STANDARD WORK HOURS: Full time / 40 hours per week / On-Site
Summary/Objective: The Senior Engineer is responsible for management in developing program controls and engineering management procedures. Technical lead for procurement of technology-based systems, subsystems, and projects. Performs engineering analysis and test support including flight test and other on-site evaluations. Assists team of engineers through project completion. Responsible for the oversight of major technical/engineering projects of high complexity and importance. Coordinates the activities of engineers and technicians assigned to specific engineering projects. Duties require interaction with operational leadership and would benefit from experience in military operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for the effective use of project funds and personnel management.
  • Accountable for the cost, quality, and timely delivery of all project contract deliverables.
  • Coordinates with principal engineer to verify that time-phased requirements are identified to meet project needs. Ensures that all required resources including technical personnel, computers, facilities and security, and administrative support are identified as available to support a project.
  • Confers with principal engineers, project engineers, systems engineers, and technical engineers to provide technical advice and to assist with project resolution as needed.
  • Manages and executes large projects consisting of multiple tasks. Ensures overall project is properly coordinated and efficiently accomplished with best available resources.
  • Reviews and edits final project reports, documents, and briefings, documents include: Technology master plans, roadmaps, project schedules, flight and ground test plans, test reports, etc.
  • Leads and directs the activities of ground and flight test project teams. Responsible for planning, conducting, analyzing, and reporting of large ground and flight test projects. Ensures all resources are identified and available to meet test project needs.
  • Leads or participates in Test Plan Working Group (TPWG) meetings to support ground or flight test projects requiring senior level technical support.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of directly related experience to include support of Electronic Warfare/Electronic Attack (EW/EA) and Radio Frequency (RF) programs. Must have prior AFRL experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not supervise the work of others.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to operate a computer and other standard office equipment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, 80%.
TRAVEL:
Very little < 5%.

The following salary range is what we reasonably expect to pay but is contingent and subject to a variety of factors, including but not limited to years of experience, education, certification(s), training, specialized skills, responsibilities, etc.
