As Director of Security, you provide overall leadership of community security operations-ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for residents, families, guests, and team members.
What You'll Do:
Lead Security Operations
• Plan, organize, and oversee all security services in compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local regulations
• Conduct and supervise property patrols and safety inspections
• Investigate incidents, safety hazards, and suspicious activity
• Ensure proper documentation through Daily and Security Logs
Emergency & Risk Management
• Lead emergency response efforts and coordinate with police/fire departments
• Ensure alarms, safety procedures, and security protocols are followed
• Promote OSHA compliance, PPE usage, and risk management programs
• Implement corrective actions to prevent repeat incidents
Resident & Community Support
• Oversee transportation coordination and after-hours escorts
• Maintain community safety standards, including weather preparedness
• Support resident services while balancing safety and hospitality
Financial & Administrative Oversight
• Manage departmental budget, staffing, payroll, and capital projects
• Review monthly financials and implement improvement plans
Team Leadership
• Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate security staff
• Foster accountability, engagement, and compliance with Sunrise standards
