Job description

Professional Development Coordinator RN

60 West, a one-of-a-kind organization, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Professional Development Coordinator (RN) to join our team in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing quality in-service education programs for staff, ensuring compliance with current regulations, and providing coaching and education to employees. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality in-service education programs for staff in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Evaluate the quality impact of in-service programs and make necessary changes based on outcomes
  • Spend a majority of time on nursing units to evaluate and correct nursing care as needed
  • Ensure facility compliance with current CDC, OSHA, state, and federal regulations
  • Coach employees on proper nursing practices and procedures
  • Make house rounds regularly and consult with RN Supervisor and Charge Nurses on education needs
  • Ensure educational programs are current and in line with government regulations, company policies and procedures, and mission and goals
  • Provide a supportive climate for learning and facilitate the adult learning process
  • Assist adult learners in identifying their learning needs and effective learning activities
  • Respond to clinical emergencies, regulatory agency visits, surveys, and issues outside of normal work hours as needed
  • Assist in on-going training of nursing staff to support clinical services and maintain clinical competency levels

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years of increased responsibility in a supervisory position in a long-term care and/or rehabilitation facility or hospital setting or equivalent nursing education degree program
  • Six (6) months of training experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices preferred
  • IV Certification required
  • Experience with state survey process, survey tag numbers, and quality measures preferred
  • Valid RN licensure
