Job Description

Within the Body Control Systems group, responsibilities for the Senior Product Engineer include but are not limited to the following:


o Designing product to meet customer structural, packaging and performance requirements

o Designing and developing test set-ups for the testing and evaluation of HMI features (buttons, rotaries, displays, etc.)

o Using DFSS and CAE analysis while developing and maintaining timing of engineering tasks to support program milestones

o Developing DFMEA and coordinating computational analysis of components, coordinating prototype builds and validation process and design validation testing

o Interact with customers to assure product performs appropriately in vehicle tests

o Participate in cross functional teams in APQP process throughout the product development cycle

o Oversight of development projects related to customer concerns and cost reductions

o Performing failure analyses and problem resolutions related to HMI feature concerns

o Drawing conclusions from analyses performed and writing formal reports, preparing and presenting analyses performed

o Creating finite element models translated from CAD models through UG NX or from 2D drawings

o Interact with product engineering staff to propose, evaluate and recommend necessary design changes or other solutions to improve quality or reduce costs.

o Understanding of design, manufacturing, cost and weight constraints necessary.

o Occasional travel to Manufacturing sites and Customer sites as required.
