RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement: Provide hands-on process engineering support for established operations by analyzing performance data, identifying inefficiencies, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Process Design & Scale-Up: Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of new processes, including scale-ups, process modifications, and technology introductions, ensuring smooth integration into existing operations.
  • Operational Excellence (ESHS & Performance): Manage and uphold standards related to Environment, Safety, Health, and Sustainability (ESHS), while ensuring product quality, optimal cycle times, and high equipment availability across all operations.
  • Technical Expertise & Problem Solving: Apply deep knowledge in core engineering disciplines-such as mixing, material science, heat and mass transfer, filtration, and drying-to troubleshoot issues, improve processes, and support complex manufacturing systems.
  • Capacity Planning & Bottleneck Reduction: Analyze site capacity constraints, identify bottlenecks, and lead targeted projects to streamline workflows, increase throughput, and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Capital Planning & Project Leadership: Recommend and support both short- and long-term capital investments related to equipment reliability, new technologies, and expanded capabilities; serve as project lead to implement these improvements successfully.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with customers, cross-functional teams, and project stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs and ensure successful project execution.
  • Governance, Standards & Knowledge Sharing: Stay current with regulations, engineering standards, and best practices; act as a technical authority, review and approve engineering documentation, develop procedures, and mentor team members to ensure consistent and accurate execution of responsibilities.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering, related engineering, or Chemistry discipline
  • 10 years prior chemical or pharmaceutical engineering manufacturing experience (preferred)
  • Experience in several production facilities with different scales and technology platforms
  • Skills in successfully overcoming challenges and identifying opportunities for improvements
  • Possess both the technical knowledge and practical experience to solve complex process engineering issues
  • Keep informed of latest technology in order to make recommendations for change
  • Strong written and verbal communication skill
  • Strong technical problem solving ability
  • Ability to influence groups without having supervisory responsibility
  • Strong Computer skills in a variety of software packages
  • Ability to apply fundamental engineering and business principles
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skill
