Job description

Senior PowerApps DeveloperIntroduction:

Our client, DC Public Schools (DCPS) is looking for an experienced developer with at least 4 years of experience in App Development to maintain a suite of previously created applications as well as design, develop, and document projects and applications using PowerApps and the Power Platform suite.

The selected candidate will maintain a suite of existing low-code/no-code applications and design, develop, and document new projects using PowerApps and the broader Microsoft Power Platform. This role requires strong technical depth across front-end development, database fundamentals, and integration with third-party systems. The contractor will work closely with the Manager of Applications to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and ensure complete documentation throughout the engagement.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain PowerApps applications independently or within a small team
  • Design and implement Power Automate Cloud flows, desktop flows, and business process flows
  • Create and configure workflows, business process automation, and integration solutions using Power Automate
  • Integrate low-code solutions with external systems and data sources
  • Maintain a suite of low-code/no-code QuickBase applications; customize HTML pages using the QuickBase API and standard QuickBase interface
  • Maintain existing data feeds to various third-party vendors
  • Create and maintain ETL processes as required
  • Manage workload and assist with troubleshooting and urgent priority requests
  • Meet weekly with the Manager of Applications to discuss critical tasks and agree on timelines
  • Prepare draft and final Program and Project Plans for technical efforts, including tasks, subtasks, dependencies, resource requirements, schedules, and milestone dates
  • Maintain complete project documentation and an annual cycle workplan
Requirements:

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor''s degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience) – 15 years
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks (Angular, React, Vue.js) – 11 years
  • RESTful APIs and integrating front-end interfaces with backend systems – 11 years
  • Problem-solving and debugging complex front-end issues – 11 years
  • Version control systems (e.g., Git) and code collaboration tools – 6 years
  • UI/UX principles and translating wireframes into functional web interfaces – 6 years
  • Designing and implementing PowerApps applications – 4 years
  • Willing to work onsite 3–4 days per week; in-person interviews required
