Are you ready to drive innovation and efficiency in the world of intermodal transportation? Join our dynamic team as Senior Operations Manager of Logistics and take the lead in elevating PTI’s intermodal operations!

We’re looking for a passionate leader with a keen understanding of intermodal logistics, drayage, and rail systems to enhance service delivery, improve operational performance, and support continued growth.

This role is responsible and accountable for leading the tools, processes, and organization needed to maintain cost, service, and profitability within PTI’s intermodal network. This role will also provide leadership and direction to the Intermodal team to resolve issues, drive operational improvements, strengthen customer and carrier relationships, and support strategic growth initiatives for PTI’s intermodal offering.

Salary range for this position is $85,000-$105,000.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide leadership and oversight of day-to-day intermodal operations activities to ensure service expectations, operational objectives, and customer commitments are achieved.
  • Develop and support execution of key initiatives that align with PTI’s intermodal strategy, operational goals, and growth initiatives.
  • Oversee operational performance and support financial results through process improvements, efficiency gains, and cost management initiatives
  • Lead efforts to identify and improve operational processes that strengthen carrier performance, cost management, service execution, and strategic relationships.
  • Identify and monitor key operating metrics to improve customer satisfaction, operational performance, and financial outcomes.
  • Partner with multiple departments across the organization to promote collaboration, profitability, and operational success.
  • Support and drive a positive customer experience through proactive communication, issue resolution, and service execution.
  • Provide market feedback and operational insights related to cost, service, carrier performance, and trends to Sales, Account Management, and Pricing teams to support business opportunities and bid strategies.
  • Lead operational support for new business opportunities by providing bid input, service strategy, operational feasibility, pricing considerations, and implementation planning for prospective customers.
  • Coach, develop, and provide direction to team members to support accountability, performance, and professional growth.
  • Prioritize team workload and provide operational guidance to support service expectations, cost management, and efficient execution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, carriers, rail providers, and customers to support operational improvements and long-term business objectives.
  • Support escalated operational needs and service concerns as necessary to maintain customer satisfaction and business continuity
  • Provide operational support during periods of PTO, staffing shortages, or increased business demand to maintain service continuity and customer expectations.
