Job description

Sr. Operations Manager- Product Marketing

Remote - SF Bay Area

ID:JR11596 (for internal use only)

Who we are

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale.

Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.

About the Role

Samsara is seeking a Sr. Operations Manager - Product Marketing to build the AI-first operating strategy and system that runs Product Marketing at scale, replacing manual handoffs with automated, always-current infrastructure.

PMM Operations: You'll build the AI-first operational strategy that makes a world-class PMM team hum. Work with AI marketing experts to turn ad hoc and manual processes into automated workflows that run itself. Build the context layer, the strategic inputs and templates, that feeds the AI tools the team needs to multiply its impact.

Release Strategy: You will re-imagine Samsara’s release motion with an AI-first system. You'll identify the strategy and context layer that is needed to create the tools and workflows that take the release process, deadlines, and launch context and turn it into the launch calendar, tiering, and messaging automatically. You will own the system that makes this knowledge actionable with reduced effort from the cross functional team.

We are looking for someone who looks at systems and ways of doing things, and helps Product Marketing operate more efficiently and effectively, predominantly by putting AI streamlining in place.

This is a remote position open to candidates based in the US.

You should apply if:

  • Build the PMM Context Layer for AI: Create and maintain a structured source of truth for messaging, ICP, and positioning that PMM, downstream teams, and AI tools can draw on to generate campaigns, decks, blog posts, and launch content, without waiting on a person to translate it each time.
  • Own the Operations System End to End for PMM: Apply a system-first approach to how the team runs. Build the intake, tasking, and ticketing system. Turn PMM workflows, QBR materials, onboarding docs, and team processes into templates and tooling that generate themselves
  • Elevate the PMM Team: Act as a force multiplier, identifying opportunities to improve how the team works and delivering on them.
Own the Context Layer: Maintain the structured sources of truth, messaging, ICP, positioning, that PMM, downstream teams, and AI tools draw on to generate campaigns, decks, and launch content.
  • Manage the Program End to End: Track dependencies and open items across concurrent workstreams, launch alignment, directorate coordination, ops rollouts, to resolution, so nothing drops between the systems you build and the humans who run the relationships.
Architect the AI-Powered Launch Engine: Lead the redesign of Samsara's launch approach. Partner with stakeholders to synthesize what's coming from the product, including features, timing, and tiers. Design the requirements for automated workflows that organize this into narratives, tier by strategic priority, and make the launch plan a living source of truth. Streamline PMM steps, from intake and templates, to derivative content. Make outputs easier for downstream teams to consume, with less manual synthesis and more automation.
  • Experience: 5+ years in Product Marketing, Product Management, Product Ops, Program Management, or related role
  • AI Fluency: Deep, hands-on experience using AI to identify, re-architect, and build multi-step workflows or automated processes end-to-end. This goes beyond layering AI on top of a process that already exists, but fundamentally rethinking how the work gets done. You can point to something you've actually built with AI, and you're excited to keep pushing what's possible.
  • Program Management Depth: Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder programs with competing timelines and dependencies.
  • Builder Mentality / Ambiguity Tolerance: Proven ability to build something from a blank canvas rather than execute an inherited playbook; comfortable operating without a clear roadmap and moving fluidly between AI-systems work and whatever else PMM needs to succeed.
  • Cross-Functional Range: Strong track record of driving alignment across Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing organizations at multiple levels of seniority
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Release Marketing / NPI Experience: Has driven a new-product-introduction or release process, built or improved tiering frameworks, launch calendars, or launch-readiness criteria.
  • PMM Team-Building Experience: Has helped a PMM team level up through operational improvements, shared rituals, or team programming.
  • Strong Marketing Instincts: Can craft compelling messaging and identify content that will resonate or not with audiences

$119,297.50 — $200,500 USD

Total Rewards

At Samsara, we build for the people who keep the global economy moving. We want owners, not passengers, which is why our rewards are designed to fuel high-impact builders. Our compensation program delivers above-market total compensation through a combination of base salary, performance-based bonus/variable pay, and equity (for eligible roles) in a high-growth public company. We meaningfully differentiate pay for our top performers, who have the opportunity to earn above-market compensation that can outpace the broader market over time.

Beyond compensation, we provide the foundations that enable long-term success: a flexible, employee-led remote model, a professional development stipend, comprehensive health and parental leave plans, and more. If you’re ready to build for the long term and own the outcome, your journey starts here.

Flexible Working

At Samsara, we embrace a flexible working model that caters to the diverse needs of our teams. Our offices are open for those who prefer to work in-person and we also support remote work where it aligns with our operational requirements. For certain positions, being close to one of our offices or within a specific geographic area is important to facilitate collaboration, access to resources, or alignment with our service regions. In these cases, the job description will clearly indicate any working location requirements. Our goal is to ensure that all members of our team can contribute effectively, whether they are working on-site, in a hybrid model, or fully remotely. All offers of employment are contingent upon an individual’s ability to secure and maintain the legal right to work at the company and in the specified work location, if applicable.

Belonging at Samsara

At Samsara, we welcome everyone regardless of their background. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, disability, age, and other characteristics protected by law. We depend on the unique approaches of our team members to help us solve complex problems and want to ensure that Samsara is a place where people from all backgrounds can make an impact.

Accommodations

Samsara is an inclusive work environment, and we are committed to ensuring equal opportunity in employment for qualified persons with disabilities. Please email accessibleinterviewing@samsara.com or click here if you require any reasonable accommodations throughout the recruiting process.

Our Commitment to Authenticity

We use Tofu , a fraud detection tool, to validate the authenticity of applications and protect against identity fraud. This ensures we are connecting with real people and allows us to prioritize genuine candidates. Please see Samsara’s Candidate Privacy Notice for more information.
