Job description

Job Title: Senior Network Administrator
Location: Tallahassee, Florida
Duration: ~12 months (July 2026 – June 2027)

We are hiring for the role of Senior Network Administrator. Below are the key details:

Role Overview

This role supports an enterprise IT environment providing network infrastructure services to over 500 users across multiple divisions. The consultant will administer and manage the network enterprise, analyze infrastructure operations, and ensure compliance with department IT standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow IT processes and coordinate with IT staff to ensure compliance with department standards

  • Analyze and assess network infrastructure and operations

  • Recommend and implement policies and procedures for day-to-day operations

  • Serve as a .NET developer on software application projects

  • Develop standards, procedures, and documentation

  • Devise short and long range plans for hardware and production system enhancement

  • Maintain audit compliance for central data systems, user accounts, backup/disaster recovery, and data center security

  • Develop and enforce security standards aligned with Florida Cybersecurity (DST rule 60GG-2, F.A.C.), NIST, and Cobit 5 standards

  • Create and follow change management procedures for all network changes

Required Skills & Experience
  • 10+ years' experience in network administration

  • 5+ years' experience as a Senior Network Administrator

  • Experience with at least one of: F5, Palo Alto, VMware, HyperV

  • Goals-oriented proactive team player with ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills; able to make independent decisions within area of expertise

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio

  • Knowledge of PowerPoint and SharePoint
