Job Description:

The Senior Manager, Facilities is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational performance, compliance, and continuous improvement of facilities management across designated Communications and Spectrum Dominance (CSD)  sites supporting Mission Critical Communications (MCC), Integrated Vision Solutions (IVS), and Targeting and Sensor Systems (TSS) locations. This role leads facilities operations for a multi-site portfolio (directly and indirectly) that may include office, engineering, manufacturing, lab, warehouse, and secure/regulated environments.

The Senior Manager ensures facilities are safe, compliant, cost-effective, resilient, and aligned with business objectives. This leader partners closely with business operations, engineering, EHS, security, real estate, finance, and site leadership to develop and execute short- and long-term facilities strategies, capital plans, infrastructure improvements, and service delivery models that enable business growth and mission success.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide leadership (direct and indirect) and direction for facilities operations across CSD Sector sites supporting MCC, IVS, and TSS.
  • Develop and execute facilities strategies aligned with sector priorities, business growth, workforce needs, and operational readiness.
  • Lead site facilities teams and, where applicable, matrixed resources responsible for building operations, utilities, maintenance, space planning, moves, repair activities, grounds, and general site services.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, environmental, health, safety, security, and corporate requirements.
  • Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for building systems and critical infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical distribution, backup power, fire/life safety systems, plumbing, compressed air, and specialized lab/manufacturing support systems as applicable.
  • Manage facilities support for office, engineering, manufacturing, warehouse, laboratory, and classified/secure environments.
  • Develop, prioritize, and manage operating budgets and capital expenditure plans; identify opportunities for cost control, standardization, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead facilities-related capital projects, renovations, infrastructure upgrades, expansions, and site improvement initiatives from planning through execution and closeout.
  • Partner with real estate and business leaders on site utilization, footprint optimization, capacity planning, and workplace strategy as the designated Sector Real Estate Representative (SRER).
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators, service levels, and operational metrics to improve facilities performance, customer satisfaction, and asset reliability.
  • Oversee third-party vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure safety, quality, schedule, cost, and contract compliance.
  • Support business continuity, emergency preparedness, disaster recovery, and infrastructure resilience planning.
  • Partner with EHS and security organizations to ensure effective implementation of safety, environmental, industrial hygiene, physical security, and emergency response requirements.
  • Support audits, inspections, risk assessments, and remediation actions related to facilities and infrastructure.
  • Ensure facilities services support production schedules, engineering development, test activities, and mission-critical business operations with minimal disruption.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using standard work, root cause analysis, and best practices across the facilities organization.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team; foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and customer service.
  • Ability to travel 25-30% between assigned sites as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration with 12 years prior experience, Graduate Degree with 10 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive facilities, plant operations, property management, engineering operations, or related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of people leadership experience, including management of managers, supervisors, or multi-site teams.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Master's degree in related discipline.
  • Professional certification such as CFM, FMP, PE, PMP, LEED, or similar.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, high-tech, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience working with Corporate and Segment real estate organizations on site selection, space utilization, lease administration support, portfolio planning, and facilities-related real estate strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, EHS, finance, security, supply chain, and executive leadership.
  • Experience supporting secure, classified, mission-critical, laboratory, or manufacturing facilities.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems, energy management programs, sustainability initiatives, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
  • Experience with utility infrastructure planning, site master planning, and workplace modernization efforts.
  • Demonstrated success in leading organizational change and process improvement initiatives.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont and Virginia is $105,000 - $195,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
