Position: Senior Telecommunications Specialist - Full time position

Cogent Security LLC seeks a Senior Telecommunications Specialist possessing strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to work with technical, functional, and management personnel. The ideal candidate must have direct experience working with COMSEC Type 1 KEY and associated equipment. The Senior Telecommunications Specialist will be responsible for conducting secure telecommunication equipment (STE) installation, repair, upgrades, troubleshooting, and the destruction of Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI). This role requires the utilization of NSA-approved Key Management Systems and associated equipment to ensure mission success.

Detailed duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Manage Secure Communications: Manage, administer, maintain, secure, install, and support secure telecommunications equipment for Agency Headquarters operations and the COMSEC Key Management System.
  • Systems Integration: Interface and integrate with local classified and unclassified Wide Area Network (WAN) telecommunications operations to ensure secure telecommunications compatibility and connectivity.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Detect, diagnose, analyze, report, and resolve issues related to hardware and application software supporting classified telecommunications equipment and cryptographic items.
  • Equipment Lifecycle Management: Execute secure telecommunication equipment (STE) installation, repair, upgrades, and troubleshooting. Manage the authorized destruction of Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI).
  • Compliance and Auditing: Assist with COMSEC audits, inspections, inventories, and training, as required, to maintain strict adherence to security protocols.
  • Strategic Awareness: Maintain awareness of emerging secure telecommunications equipment and COMSEC Key Management requirements and operational changes.
  • Operational Security: Ensure protection of operations and equipment in accordance with Agency and applicable national policy requirements.

Requirements


  • Minimum 8 years of relevant industry experience in Type 1 Key management and secure telecommunications/COMSEC equipment
  • Extensive Federal Government experience with relevant COMSEC certifications
  • Current and active security clearance (Specific Agency information provided during interview)
  • Experience with NSA-approved Key Management Systems
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Be self-motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented
  • Ability to manage the workload and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline
  • Experience working collaboratively with senior Agency management
  • Advanced technical training in Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI)

Position Location: Washington, DC (Agency location provided during interview)
