Job description

Job Summary
As a Support Services Technician with Corewell Health, you will make a meaningful impact by assisting patients and care teams across areas such as Environmental Services, Nutrition Services, Patient Transport, Reception, and Supply Chain. You will remain on one unit per shift, supporting about 12-15 patients each day by ordering and delivering meals, completing daily room cleaning, providing one-way transport to the discharge lounge or lobby, and responding to non-clinical requests through concierge technology. Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork are essential as you help create a seamless and positive patient experience.
Essential Functions
  • Work as a team member helping others to contribute to the overall success of Corewell Health. Refer to the job profile of the duties being performed.
  • Communicates effectively with all hospital staff, visitors, patients/residents to ensure the highest level of customer service and care for our patients/residents, including greeting and assisting in hospital navigation. This position is part of the patient care team and will create a positive impact on the patient's experience by providing a safe, clean, and visually appealing environment.
  • Completes special projects as assigned, with specific direction.
  • Provides training and ongoing instruction to new and existing Support Services staff.
  • Acts as team lead during uplines absence and reports work-related issues to upline.
  • Assigns, coordinates, inspects employee work assignments, and completes quality assurance inspections.
  • Ensure that services are provided in accordance with state and federal regulations, accreditation and compliance requirements, and organizational policy.
  • Navigate between campus locations to support needed operations

Qualifications
Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months of relevant experience Included job profile tasks and/or other related experience

Preferred
  • one year of relevant experience Customer service and/or other related experience
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Patient Transport 90 Days Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Patient Transport 90 Days
  • CRT-Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) - AHE Association for the Healthcare Environment Environmental Services 1 Year
  • CRT-ServSafe Manager - NRA National Restaurant Association Nutrition Services 90 Days
  • CRT-ServSafe Allergen - NRA National Restaurant Association Nutrition Services 90 Days
  • CRT-ServSafe Handler - NRA National Restaurant Association Nutrition Services 90 Days
