Job description

Overview
Copley Hospital, located in Morrisville/Stowe VT, is looking for a Chaplain to join our team!
This is a Full-Time position (PT available).
Copley Hospital has a variety of shifts available across Full-Time, Part-Time, and Per Diem needs. Please consider applying to discuss how your availability may align.
Compensation: $26-31/hour.
The posted salary range reflects compensation for candidates with limited experience. An offer may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market data. An offer of employment may be outside of the posted range based on those factors.
Responsibilities
The Chaplain provides spiritual and emotional support to patients, families and staff in accordance with the vision and mission of Copley Health Systems.
They will:
  • Seek to provide sensitive attention to the dignity, culture, beliefs, practices and spiritual needs of all patients, caregivers, and hospital personnel.
  • Participate and is accountable to members of the Operations Team (senior leadership) and offers the perspective of spirituality within the workplace organization, specifically how the organizational initiatives, organizational changes and challenges are understood in a spiritual sense of meaning, purpose, wholeness, and integration.
  • Participate collaboratively in professional patient care team.
  • Comply with all applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and policies governing the provision of health care.

Qualifications
Education:
Master's Divinity degree or its equivalent from an accredited seminary; successfully completed two units of CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) in an accredited center.
Experience:
Minimum two years experience in parish pastoral or chaplaincy setting.
License or Certifications:
Certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains or intention to seek same and have endorsement to function as a chaplain from the ecclesiastical body to which she/he belongs
Skills
  • Able to provide pastoral care to persons of all religious faiths.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to facilitate relationships among patients, families, staff and community, including area clergy.
  • Able to budget own time.
  • Knowledge of healthcare organizational structure and dynamics.

Work Schedule/conditions
  • Work may require evening, night, holiday, or weekend assignments.
  • Working Demands: Subject to long and irregular hours (The Chaplaincy Department has a system in place for chaplaincy care on a twenty-four-hour basis to respond to emergency or crisis situations.)

  • Must be able to answer to patient referrals/calls promptly
