Your Role: Engineering Advisor

As an Engineering Advisor, you will be a key technical leader within Elanco's global manufacturing network. You will leverage your deep engineering expertise to provide consultation and guidance to our Small Molecule manufacturing and packaging sites. In this role, you'll be responsible for advancing the technical capabilities of our operations, partnering with site leadership, plant engineers, and scientists to implement rigorous solutions for both new and existing animal health products. Your work will directly contribute to the reliability and efficiency of our manufacturing processes, ensuring we deliver on our promise of Food and Companionship Enriching Life.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Consultation: Advise and assist global manufacturing sites with process optimization, technical evaluations, capital planning, product launches, and complex troubleshooting to resolve key business and technical challenges.

  • Technical Leadership: Provide expert engineering support and guidance for our global manufacturing strategy, including critical capital investments, business development opportunities, and the development of engineering capabilities across the network.

  • Knowledge Sharing: Develop and implement tools and programs to foster knowledge sharing across the Elanco engineering community, actively participate in Communities of Practice, and provide coaching and mentorship to junior engineering staff.

  • Capital Support: Provide technical consulting for major capital projects, from conceptual design and detailed engineering through to commissioning and qualification, ensuring projects meet business and technical objectives.

  • External Influence: Leverage external networks and resources to stay current with leading-edge technologies and complement internal expertise, bringing innovative solutions to Elanco.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical, or a related field).

  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering within a GMP-regulated environment (pharmaceutical, animal health, or related industry), including significant experience with capital project and portfolio management.

  • Key Skills: Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams on complex technical issues, coupled with a strong aptitude for anticipating and resolving key operational problems independently.

  • Additional Requirements: Must be a self-starter capable of working with minimal direction and have the flexibility for business travel.

  • Advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.

  • Deep subject matter expertise in one or more key manufacturing technologies, such as oral solid dose, fermentation, or packaging.
