Job description

Job Summary

The Engineering Advisor coordinates and manages projects on-site. They provide consulting, training, and support services to customers and employees related to solution setup, product configuration, solution implementation, and critical business processes. They oversee the application of shoring equipment with hydraulic system designs and technical shoring layouts for job sites such as trenching and excavation. The Advisor understands, analyzes, and categorizes customer issues in partnership with the sales team to recommend the safest and cost-effective solution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site installation and technical support.  Read blueprints to advise the customer on the best way to install equipment
  • Advise project managers and sales team in formulating the plan for installation projects and educate on properly identifying slide rail/beam and plate opportunities. 
  • Assess construction phases, job situations, and project conditions for timing the approach of customers and rental product application suggestions.
  • Discuss customer needs, suggest the most suitable equipment for the application, and be the source of information for our customers and engineering team about related equipment and services available in the local market.
  • Fleet Inspection and ensuring damaged or repairs are reported and completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure job boxes are ready for the specific project; loaded with correct rigging, shackles, and related materials.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained and charged back to the customer if lost.
  • Communicate effectively with customers for the timely execution of the Order Verification process
  • Educate employees and customers on the safe and proper installation/extraction and use of protective systems
  • Supports the engineering team with quality assurance as needed
  • Assists the estimating team with project schedule, budget, and cost parameters by providing technical input as needed.
  • Assists in the development of design drawings and provides technical input, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills

  • Working knowledge of codes and process design standards preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment to a variety of situations
  • Strong Leadership, collaboration, and presentation skills
  • Ability to multitask and collaborate effectively with other personnel to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient knowledge in engineering systems and core products
  • General knowledge of the OSHA and applicable state and local requirements relative to Trench and Excavation Shoring and Shielding.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum (5) Five years of experience in engineering systems or operations, preferably in trench shoring or the construction industry
  1. Must have a valid driver's license
  1. Willingness to travel atleast50% of the time
