Job Title: Network Engineer
Work Location: North Chesterfield, VA 23235
Duration: 12+ months
Visa: Candidate must be eligible to work on W2 or C2C

Required Skills:
  • Advanced computer skills are required, particularly related to personal computer, PC peripherals and Network technical support
  • expertise related to advanced network administration concepts (DHCP, DNS, routers, firewall, etc.)
  • Experience in troubleshooting computer software/hardware problems
  • Advanced customer relations skills with good verbal and written communication skills
  • Hands-on knowledge of MS Office Suite - MS Word, MS Excel, and MS outlook
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Nice to have previous experience on Government Public sector, projects

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • The Network Engineer 4 is responsible for leading and coordinating activities to procure and install LiveScans statewide, to advise agencies as they define their LiveScan equipment and network requirements, to assist agencies to upgrade existing equipment, to create network connectivity between cloud-based LiveScan servers and agency LiveScans, to coordinate network connectivity and the configuration of state and agency systems to integrate these systems with cloud-based LiveScan servers, to coordinate activities with IT suppliers and state technical personnel.
  • The person selected for this position will work full-time onsite at Virginia State Police Headquarters, 7700 Midlothian Tpke, North Chesterfield, VA 23235.
  • Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, excluding state holidays.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
