Job description

Engineer Senior - Electrical Arizona State University Off-Campus: Mesa/Tempe JR119854 End Date: July 24, 2026 Apply before 11:59 PM Arizona time the day before the posted End Date. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field including two (2) years managerial experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Job Description: Facilities Development and Management, FM KE Facilities Services, MacroTechnology Works (MTW), seeks an experienced Senior Engineer with knowledge of Power Distribution systems within a robust mission critical manufacturing environment, specifically either Semiconductor Manufacturing or Mission Critical Datacenter facilities. This person will have specific working knowledge in interfacing owner’s representative to Salt River Project. The Senior Engineer will have experience with 12KV and 4,170V distribution systems.  The position will be required to learn the existing distribution system by reviewing documentation and working with ASU Site Facilities engineering team and site electricians. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for the upkeep of the site single line diagram and the existing site electrical panel schedule database. The Senior Engineer will work with ASU and tenant electrical contractor(s) in reviewing Arc Flash calculations and ensuring that the proper Electrical Safety Protocols are addressed, implemented, and followed. The engineer will be responsible for working with peers from outside consulting firms to help guide and review their proposed designs for modification to the facility. The engineer will assist the operations team with developing the operational budget for the systems that they own and develop plans for improving the operations costs of the system. The Senior Engineer will represent ASU in design reviews of facilities base build and semiconductor tool installations. The Senior Engineer will also advise on best practices for facilities maintenance of the electrical equipment on site. The Senior Engineer will look for and present cost savings ideas to Facilities management for site operations improvements. The desired candidate should be a registered professional engineer (PE) in the State of Arizona (or able to obtain registration within six months of hire) and highly knowledgeable with the International Building Codes and the National Electrical Code, specifically with application in “H Type” occupancies. Must be proficient in the use of Bluebeam to help with drawing development and design reviews.
