Job description

Job Title: Senior Capital Projects Director (Industrial Infrastructure)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Capital Projects Director to lead the development and execution of mission-critical, large-scale industrial infrastructure assets. You will be the primary accountable leader for the full project lifecycle-from development and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) execution through to final commissioning and operational handoff.
This is a high-impact, executive-level role for a project leader who thrives on managing complex portfolios in the $300M to $1B+ range. You will be responsible for balancing the "iron triangle" of project management (scope, schedule, and budget) while ensuring that our projects meet the highest technical, safety, and regulatory standards. If you have a proven track record of delivering multi-year capital projects on time, on budget, and safely, this is an opportunity to lead some of the most complex industrial builds in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & EPC Execution
• End-to-End Ownership: Direct all phases of large-scale industrial construction, including procurement, EPC contractor oversight, and management of major equipment suppliers.
• Capital Governance: Establish project budgets and schedules. Monitor the "critical path" and implement proactive recovery plans to mitigate risks in a capital-intensive, fast-paced environment.
• Contract & Commercial Management: Administer complex EPC and OEM contracts. Manage claims, disputes, and negotiations while ensuring all performance guarantees are met upon completion.
Technical Coordination & Commissioning
• Engineering Oversight: Collaborate with project engineering teams and third-party specialists to ensure technical designs for high-complexity systems are sound, constructible, and code-compliant.
• Construction Management: Oversee site-level activities, including civil works, equipment installation, electrical/instrumentation setup, and system integration.
• Commissioning Handoff: Lead the turnover process, from pre-commissioning activities and performance testing to the final transition to operations.
Stakeholder & HSE Governance
• Executive Presence: Interface with executive leadership, regulatory agencies, industrial customers, and local communities. Deliver clear, data-driven project reporting that highlights health, status, and risks.
• Safety Culture: Champion a "zero-incident" safety culture. Ensure total compliance with OSHA and internal safety standards at every stage of the project.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of experience in heavy industrial or infrastructure construction.
• Scale Expertise: 7+ years of direct experience managing major EPC projects with individual project budgets of $100M+.
• Technical Breadth: Strong understanding of high-voltage electrical interconnects, thermodynamic systems, and complex industrial balance-of-plant (BOP) design.
• Leadership: Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and effectively coordinate with third-party OEMs and contractors.
Preferred Attributes
• Master's degree (MBA or Engineering) is a plus.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Deep knowledge of construction scheduling software (e.g., Primavera/MS Project) and advanced project controls.
