Job description

Audubon is currently seeking a Senior Construction Manager to join our team in our Houston, TX Energy Corridor Office. The Senior Construction Manager will be responsible for:
  • Overseeing the safety standards and costs of the project, the Sr. Construction Manager ensures that the project is completed on time and according to the client's specification.
  • Oversees daily JSA (Job Safety Analysis).
  • Ensure that all Project/Company HSE goals are achieved and where possible exceeded.
  • Ensure that all construction personnel in conjunction with Site Manager at both Project and Corporate level are aware of / implement safe working practices / procedures and are provided with a safe working environment.
  • Deliver a high standard of construction ensuring a consistent and efficient approach is implemented at all times.
  • Implementation of a continuous improvement philosophy across the construction function, delivering best practices at all times.
  • Organize, manage and support of all construction personnel, subcontractors and vendors on the project in conjunction with Site Manager.
  • Maintain and deliver the construction activities within budget, and, where applicable, implement cost saving initiatives.
  • Management of all commercial aspects of the project regarding invoicing, RFIs, Change Orders, Budgeting, Forecasting.
  • The Sr. Construction Manager reports to the Vice President - Construction Operations and is responsible for the execution of the project.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Management of all project controls aspects including scheduling, progress reporting, and cost controls.
  • Manage, develop and support the construction process at both a Project and Corporate level in a
  • safe, structured and cost effective manner.
  • Attends daily safety meetings.
  • Interface with Client's Operations and Project Personnel.
  • Organizes daily work activities.
  • Organize job tasks.
  • Oersee daily construction.
  • Visual inspection of crew's job performance.
  • Assures adherence to engineering specifications as well as applicable industry codes and standards. Communicates daily with project management about any issues and to update progress of work.
  • Reports daily to client and Project Manager about activities and issues concerning project.
  • Monitors and manages transportation requirements as needed.
  • To verify that the drawings and specifications provide adequate instructions for the work and advise the Project Construction Manager and/or Project Manager of any deficiencies or clarifications needed.
  • To be fully familiar with the sub-contractors methods of construction, programming and procedures and to resolve any apparent conflicts.
  • Maintain and deliver the construction activities within budget, and, where applicable, implement cost saving initiatives.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:
  • All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies' Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. This includes:
  • Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
  • Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
  • Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
  • Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • College Degree, with focus in Construction and/or Engineering Practices
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction, facilities, pipeline, or offshore.
  • Extensive knowledge of fabrication procedures is required.
  • Problem solving abilities must be evident. Must be good at conflict resolution. Good communication
  • skills with crew members as well as clients are vital.
  • Must be able to work as many as 16 hours per day.
  • Must be able to work on weekends and holidays.
  • Travel to and from, and relocation to construction sites and/or fabrication shops around the country is often required.
