What is a Senior AXP?

Senior AXPs, or Senior Architectural Experience Program candidates, are individuals who are in the advanced stages of the Architectural Experience Program (AXP), typically having completed most of the required training hours and responsibilities under the supervision of a licensed architect. They often take on more complex tasks, coordinate project teams, and help mentor junior staff. Senior AXPs are usually preparing to take the Architect Registration Examination (ARE) and are close to becoming licensed architects themselves.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Senior AXP?

To thrive as a Senior AXP (Architectural Experience Program participant), you need a comprehensive understanding of architectural design, project management, and building codes, usually supported by a professional degree in architecture and progress toward licensure. Proficiency in design software like AutoCAD, Revit, and familiarity with project management platforms is essential. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities help you collaborate effectively with teams and clients. These skills ensure efficient project execution, adherence to regulations, and advancement toward becoming a licensed architect.

How does a Senior AXP typically collaborate with junior team members and other departments within an organization?
