Senior Account Executive Life SciencesJob Description

The Senior Account Executive Life Sciences role is a senior position within the Business Development team and will work closely with the Director and VP of Business Development to define and lead business development strategy within the Life Sciences vertical.

In this role, the Senior Account Executive will collaborate across service and product delivery teams, including Business Intelligence, Systems Integration, Automation, and other technical disciplines, to identify and execute business opportunities.

The successful candidate will ensure the sales pipeline remains healthy, drive forecast accuracy, and contribute to a high-performing, collaborative sales environment. The position requires exceptional interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and networking skills to support long-term success.

The successful candidate will lead with energy, a sense of urgency, and clear direction while maintaining high ethical standards and a customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Account Executive, you will be responsible for:

  • Manage and own the Life Sciences industry portfolio and develop effective sales strategies.

  • Develop and maintain account plans to achieve annual sales goals and forecasts within an assigned account portfolio.

  • Support the Director of Business Development in developing and achieving annual goals and sales forecasts within the assigned vertical industry.

  • Identify opportunities to deliver value, understand strategic drivers, identify key stakeholders and buying processes, and develop accurate sales forecasts.

  • Manage a portfolio consisting of approximately 1 Strategic Account, 1015 Focused Accounts, and 35 Target Accounts.

Account Management Responsibilities
  • Establish new and grow existing customer relationships while securing contracts that achieve assigned sales quotas and targets.

  • Research assigned clients and prospective contacts to identify opportunities for account growth.

  • Identify target accounts for new business development within the Life Sciences vertical.

  • Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement through to closed sale.

  • Develop and drive business initiatives that support future growth and success.

  • Identify sales opportunities through direct methods such as cold calling and face-to-face meetings, as well as indirect methods including networking.

  • Qualify opportunities against established criteria for ideal customers, projects, and sales opportunities.

  • Consult with prospects regarding business challenges and requirements, including available solutions and their associated costs and benefits.

  • Participate in introductions and initial engagements with new customers and contacts.

  • Maintain a high level of relevant industry and domain knowledge to facilitate meaningful conversations with prospects and customers.

  • Collaborate with delivery, product, engineering, technical, operations, and product specialist teams as required to address customer requirements, challenges, and opportunities.

  • Utilize Salesforce to create and manage opportunities, accounts, contacts, and related sales activity.
  • Utilize Microsoft Teams to manage internal communication and collaboration for accounts and opportunities.


Must Haves

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5+ Years of Sales Experience within Life Sciences
  • Experience Selling an Engineering Service ) - software, industrial automation , smart manufacturing solutions, or operational technology services in manufacturing.
