Position Summary Systems Analyst/Programmer Information Technology Full Time Primary Responsibilities Create and maintain application programs supporting the University community; Work with end users to identify and document application requirements and specifications. Design, code, test, maintain, document, and implement computer applications Partner with campus units to implement, configure, and support business applications; Help analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues Develop business reports for functional teams; Work with IT System Administrators to implement roles and access procedures to secure university data Work with third party vendors to integrate software with the University's enterprise systems; Consider data and security needs protecting the assets of the University; Work with IT Data Engineers to implement data synchronization between systems Stay current on program development tools, languages, frameworks, and methods; Research and implement best practices for information and application security Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field Experience with SQL and developing database queries Experience developing in at least one programming language Ability to effectively analyze and solve complex problems Ability to effectively communicate technical procedures and concepts, both in writing and verbally to individuals without a technical background Experience working in a team environment and ability to work independently with limited supervision Demonstrated experience and understanding of quality customer service *Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position. *This position is not fully remote and will require working on-campus in Cape Girardeau, MO.
