Job description

Position Summary Experiential Learning Consultant - 2 positions available Office of Career Services Full-Time The Experiential Learning Consultant will provide individual career coaching and assistance to students on a variety of career-related topics including career planning, resume and cover letter preparation, networking, interviewing, internships/job search strategies, and utilization of online career resources. Within the Fearlessly Forward strategic plan, this position will engage faculty, staff, and stakeholders to build the available number of 8-week experiential learning opportunities, in addition to others, that are available to SEMO students. Primary Responsibilities Provide individual career coaching and assistance to students and alumni on career-related topics including career planning, resume and cover letter preparation, networking, interviewing, internships/job search strategies, and utilization of online career resources Engage with employers to create and find experiential learning opportunities Assist students by referring internally to college support services and externally to community resources as appropriate Promote and utilize online career management tools to assist students with internship and job search opportunities Research and keep current employment trends, knowledge of the job market, salary data, and best practices for career services through participation in regional and national career organizations Collaborate with career services staff to provide programs, workshops, classroom presentations, career expos, or other career-related events Contribute to the development of career resource materials Contribute to website content development Develop ongoing relationships with faculty, staff and administration to encourage full utilization of career services Assist with employer engagement and experiential learning initiatives Provide support for annual projects and reports Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree Knowledge of career development, recruiting and job search processes Evidence of strong communication (interpersonal, written, verbal), organizational, and customer service skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Experience working as part of a team in a collaborative work environment Evidence of the ability to exercise sound judgment Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and projects Ability to work flexible hours including some evening and weekend hours consistent with student needs Experience in handling sensitive and confidential information Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, employers, and community partners Required Information & Deadline Application Deadline: The position is available immediately and will remain open until filled.
