Job description

Position Summary Assistant Coach - Women's Gymnastics Department of Athletics Full Time/Term Primary Responsibilities Assist head coach in development of a program that challenges student athletes to improve and succeed individually, and as a team Follow all NCAA, MIC, and SEMO policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures Assist in spotting and providing corrections on the technical aspect of gymnastics Assist with the in-gym conditioning, cardio, and lifting workouts alongside the strength and conditioning coach. Assist in the recruitment of prospective student athletes for the university including attending club meets to identify talent, maintaining written and telephone correspondence accordingly, all while remaining compliant with NCAA Rules Complete administrative functions include, but not limited to, monitoring equipment and supplies, assist in booking all travel arrangements, participate in public relations activities and volunteer work, assist with planning and coordinating promotional activities, oversee summer camp, and perform other related duties assigned by the Head Coach Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Demonstrated experience as part of an optional or collegiate gymnastics program as either a student-athlete or coach Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to NCAA regulations Demonstrated ability to motivate student-athletes academically and athletically Demonstrated ability to recruit qualified student-athletes Demonstrated ability to coach gymnastics events including spotting and technical corrections, and experience with choreography is a plus Proficiency in college gymnastics skill values and bonus on all events Excellent organizational skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary to develop respectful and positive relationships with student-athletes, faculty and staff, and the Cape Girardeau community Ability to work evening and weekend hours Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service Required Information & Deadline Application Deadline: Review of applications will begin immediately.
