ROLE SUMMARY:
The HR Coordinator serves as a consistent point of support for employees at Dollar Shave Club, providing day-to-day people operations across onboarding, offboarding, HRIS data accuracy, and benefits administration. As a key member of the People Team, this role is committed to delivering a people-first experience for every employee across DSC. The HR Coordinator reports to the Manager, People Programs & Systems.
This is a full-time, temporary hourly position with a 6-month initial assignment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
People Operations
  • Support new hire onboarding and employee offboarding through HRIS workflows, email communications, and other internal coordination steps as applicable
  • Maintain accurate employee data in ADP Workforce Now for new hires, changes, and separations; audit records regularly to ensure data integrity
  • Keep digital employee files complete and compliant with applicable recordkeeping requirements
  • Complete employment verification requests in a timely manner
  • Track compliance training completion and follow up with employees and managers as needed
  • Assist with ad hoc regulatory compliance reporting, including EEO-1 and CA Pay Data reporting
  • Manage the People Team shared inbox; triage requests and resolve general inquiries promptly
  • Maintain HR SOPs, and general administrative support to the People Team on projects, programs, and strategic initiatives

Benefits Administration
  • Respond to employee benefits inquiries and help resolve enrollment issues or carrier discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate data across benefit carrier portals and assist with enrollment reconciliation
  • Review health insurance invoices for accuracy and coordinate timely monthly payments with the Accounting Team
  • Support the annual open enrollment process and assist with COBRA administration
  • Assist with benefits-related regulatory compliance reporting and required notice distributions

Office Support
  • Provide office support coverage to the Employee Engagement Manager, including but not limited to event catering coordination, office/kitchen readiness, mail routing, shipping, and other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent HR certification (PHR, aPHR, SHRM-CP) preferred but not required
  • 2+ years of experience in an HR or People Operations role
  • 1-2 years of hands-on benefits administration experience
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now; experience with other HRIS platforms is a plus
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools and emerging technology to streamline work and improve efficiency
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail) preferred not required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and adapts well in a fast-paced environment

POSITION TYPE:
Full-Time (36 hours per week),Temporary, Hourly
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is in-office, working out of our HQ in Durham, North Carolina 4x a week.
SALARY:
$24.00 - $28.00/hr.
BENEFITS:
  • Eligible for overtime (hours worked beyond 40 hours per week)
  • Eligible to accrue sick-time at 1 hour per 30 hours worked.
  • Half day Fridays year-round (subject to business needs)
