Job description

Security Supervisor 

Position Title: Security Supervisor 

Department: Operations 

Reports To: Security Captain / Operations Manager 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

Position Summary 

The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing security personnel assigned to designated posts, ensuring compliance with company and client expectations, coordinating schedules, providing training and guidance, responding to escalated incidents, and maintaining accurate documentation. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and operational awareness. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

Leadership & Personnel Oversight 

  • Supervise assigned security guards during scheduled shifts. 
  • Ensure guards follow company policies, post orders, and client expectations. 
  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and corrective guidance. 
  • Conduct performance observations and report issues to management. 
  • Assist with new hire onboarding at the site level. 

Operational Responsibilities 

  • Review and verify guard logs, reports, and required documentation. 
  • Coordinate staffing needs and assist with schedule adjustments. 
  • Conduct post inspections and ensure proper guard coverage. 
  • Respond to escalated incidents and coordinate with law enforcement or emergency personnel. 
  • Communicate site updates, issues, and recommendations to management. 

Security & Incident Response 

  • Oversee incident response and ensure accurate reporting. 
  • Support guards during active emergencies and ensure proper protocol compliance. 
  • Monitor surveillance and security systems as needed. 
  • Perform patrols and site checks when required. 

Qualifications 

  • Prior experience as a Security Officer required. 
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of security operations and post procedures. 
  • Ability to train, mentor, and guide security personnel. 
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills. 
  • Ability to make decisions in fast‑paced or high‑stress environments. 
  • Valid Class D Security License required; Class G preferred (if armed sites apply). 
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. 
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship required. 
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen. 
  • Familiarity with CCTV, reporting systems, and incident documentation. 
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred. 

Compensation & Schedule 

  • Supervisor pay range starts at $18.50/hour. 
  • Full-time and Part-time schedules available based on site needs. 
  • 8-hour or 12-hour shifts, including overnight and weekend shifts depending on assignment. 
  • Work location: Primarily Fort Myers, FL (on-site).
