Reports To:ย Retail, Food & Beverage, & Special Events Manager

Compensation:ย $20 - $23 / hour

ย Job Summary:ย We are seeking a Production Assistant to support the technical and creative needs of our productions. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of QLab and basic audio and engineering skills, with the ability to assist in playback, queuing, and troubleshooting during rehearsals and live performances. This role will also involve basic maintenance of lighting equipment, including cable management, and ensuring fixtures are in proper working order.

Additional responsibilities may include setup and strike of equipment, supporting production crew as needed, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the production. Because of the nature of the live event, they may assist in any event related items as required and will advise the department manager of any technical or artistic needs that may arise to keep the integrity of the audio designs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strong communication, adaptability, and attention to detail.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair the audio systems throughout the duration of the event
  • Responsible for seeing that the sound designs are maintained with artistic integrity throughout the duration of the event
  • Assist with lighting systems as needed
  • Work with the department manager staff during rehearsals to incorporate last-minute changes
  • Become familiar with company policies regarding safety
  • Work with the entire event team to maintain a positive, enjoyable, and rewarding environment for all staff and passengers
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education, Skill & Work Experience Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of QLab
  • Experience with computer networking hardware and software
  • Ability to work alongside the staff as a team member in an ever-changing environment
  • Ability to work independently with self-motivation and attention to detail as well as excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate, recognize and solve practical problems and resolve issues
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in written form

Work Environment:

  • Majority of time spent in an event setting
  • Varied schedules requiring evenings, weekends, overtime, and holidays
  • Able to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Varying temperatures and weather conditions; both indoor and outdoor
  • Able to stand and walk on uneven or unsteady surfaces aboard a moving train
  • Time spent in and around active railroad yard(s)
