Job description

CT Technologist

We're seeking an experienced CT Technologist for a permanent role with a hospital in Alamosa, CO where you will be responsible for accurately interpreting a physician's scanning instructions, skillfully administering contrast materials, and expertly operating CT scan equipment.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Completion of formal radiologic technologist training in an AMA-approved program or JRCERT accredited Radiology program.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration. MRI preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in Computerized Tomography with CT experience required. 1 year experience preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Willingness to relocate to a rural area.
  • Ability to perform quality control tasks, general equipment maintenance, and required documentation.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Follow prescribed scanning techniques and physician instructions for CT procedures.
  • Prepare patients and rooms, position equipment, arrange immobilization/support devices, and select proper scanning parameters.
  • Administer contrast materials and monitor patients per protocol.
  • Perform daily cleaning of x-ray/CT rooms and routine diagnostic testing and maintenance on equipment.
  • Perform quality control tasks and maintain quality control reports specific to procedures performed.
  • Perform general office duties as needed such as scheduling, answering phones, and filing.
  • Participate in call assignments as required.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
