About the Role

As an Operations Associate specializing in grain and agronomy operations, you will play a vital part in ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of grain, as well as supporting agronomy services. Your responsibilities will include operating equipment, maintaining facilities, assisting with inventory management, and providing excellent service to our farmer-owners and customers. This role will be traveling to locations to support operations and maintain housekeeping duties.ย ย 


What will you do?

  • Assist in all aspects of elevator operations.ย 
  • Receive, dry, and unload grain.ย 
  • Measure grain inventory on a weekly/monthly basis.ย 
  • Assist in grain train loading operations including cleaning and sealing cars.ย 
  • If applicable to location, operate a train locomotive & obtain a training certificate on locomotive operations.ย 
  • Maintain grain conditions by testing temperatures and blending.ย 
  • Assist in all aspects of the fertilizer and chemical operations.ย 
  • Measure inventory and report it to the supervisor.ย 
  • Unload bulk and packaged products and pump bulk chemicals into customer tanks.ย 
  • Tender to applicators.ย 
  • Fill NH3 nurse tanks during the season.ย 
  • Understand basic agronomy chemistry of all products.ย 
  • Perform equipment and facility maintenance including housekeeping records and cleanliness.ย 
  • Provide prompt, professional, and courteous customer service.ย 

Requirements

  • Ability to safely operate equipment and perform physical, hands-on work
  • Willingness to travel between locations to support operations and housekeeping
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to assist with equipment and facility maintenance
  • Comfort working in outdoor and seasonal conditions
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and SOPs
  • Strong focus on customer service and teamwork
  • Willingness to obtain required training and certifications (e.g., locomotive, NH3)

Licenses: Must have a Class A CDL with applicable endorsements or be able to obtain one, if applicable to the location. This position requires the safe operation of a motor vehicle to perform the essential functions of the job. The employee must meet the qualifications set forth in the company's vehicle safety policy. Failure to meet these qualifications could result in removal from this position.ย ย ย
