Position Summary:
The Inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients in an inpatient setting. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, monitoring patient conditions, administering treatments, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care.
Hours / Schedule: Full Time; 7 day on/7 day off, Weekday hours are 7am-7pm
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university (or international equivalent) preferred.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of recent acute care experience in an institutional setting required.

  • One (1) year of home care and/or Hospice experience preferred.

  • Current RN license valid in the assigned state(s).

  • Current CPR certification is required.

  • Valid driver's license with a reliable, insured vehicle, if required for operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional nursing care in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.

  • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, including vital signs, physical exams, and review of medical history.

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on patient needs.

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

  • Monitor and document patient status, including changes in condition, pain, and response to treatments.

  • Provide patient and family education regarding disease management, medications, and self-care techniques.

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living to promote comfort and independence.

  • Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.

  • Ensure patient safety and maintain a therapeutic and supportive environment.

  • Participate in daily rounds, interdisciplinary team meetings, and patient care conferences.

  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.

  • Attend continuing education, in-services, and training to maintain clinical competency.

  • Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, basic math skills; nursing skills per competency checklist.

  • Prolonged or considerable walking or standing.

  • Able to lift, position and/or transfer patients.

  • Able to lift supplies and equipment.

  • Considerable reaching, stooping bending, kneeling and/or crouching.

  • Visual acuity and hearing to perform required nursing skills.
