Job description

Fortune Fish & Gourmet is hiring in our Seafood Department! This is an exciting time to join our rapidly growing business! As an industry leader, weโ€™re increasing relationships through our quality products and services. We are continually looking for outstanding talent to join our extraordinary and fun group of employees.


Schedule: Third shift, Sunday through Friday, 7:00 p.m. to approximately 3:00 a.m. Days off are Saturday night and one additional weekday, typically Tuesday.

Responsibilities

  • Duties include sorting, butchering, cleaning, weighing, and boxing various seafood products.
  • All Fortune employees are required to wear protective safety gear and are responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • Product and industry knowledge- fish and seafood handling preferred
  • Knife experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have a basic understanding of the English language, including the ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Able to work with seafood, including various types of fish and shellfish.
  • Able to lift to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the work shift.
  • Must follow all directions and adhere to work rules.
  • Must be willing and able to work with other departments in a team atmosphere.
  • Must be willing and able to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Prompt and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly exposed to cool, wet, and/or humid conditions, as well as moving mechanical parts. There is exposure to raw fish in the workplace.
