Job description

Job Details:

Reporting to the VP F&A of Tyson Beef and Pork, the Director of Finance - FP&A is responsible for partnering with the Beef and Pork organizations (c. $27bn in revenue) in its strategic and operational planning, and margin management activities.

This senior management role will be responsible for strategic planning and forecasting for BUs within the segment, while collaborating with the Commercial Finance and Product Optimization teams to maximize segment profitability. This position partners with functional leaders across the business, as well as other departments within Finance, to drive financial and business insights for executive decision making. This person will also connect the company's strategic initiatives to the financial plan, including the financial transformation of the organization. The successful candidate will help develop a high-performing team able to meet the future needs of the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to develop financial and non-financial targets for BUs within the Beef and Pork segment, and drive accountability and performance

  • Oversee Financial Planning and Analysis, develop and manage planning cycles and long-range plan and budget

  • Analyze business performance with the ability to identify issues, drive to the root cause(s) and develop the appropriate corrective actions

  • Lead the estimating process for the business, coordinating with the Commercial Finance and Primal Optimization teams to support tactical decision making to drive gross margin in the business

  • Build a world class finance team capable of growing the business profitably and delivering financial support

  • Partner with corporate shared service functions to lead business transformation initiatives including roll-out of new systems and processes

  • Ensure that the highest controllership standards are maintained including those related to account reconciliation, stewardship of assets and integrity of financial transactions

  • Support ad hoc strategic initiatives across the company related to investments, cost optimization, innovation and mergers and acquisitions.

Experience and Competencies

  • 10 plus years finance managerial experience with success building effective teams and leading through teams

  • Demonstrated success as a people leader with a strong ability to measure, develop and coach talent

  • Experience leading people and processes through a time of significant organizational change

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization

  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically with supporting analytical skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced matrixed organization / deadline driven environment

  • The ability to identify and champion initiatives that drive operating performance through the organization, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver results

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to function in a fast paced, highly visible, and fast-changing environment

  • Previous meat packing experience a plus

  • Travel: limited travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting

  • MBA, CPA or CMA a plus but not required.

Preferred System and Application Experience:

  • SAP, Anaplan, Power BI

  • Expertise with Microsoft Office suite.
