Gen-Systems Power Solutions is seeking an SCR SNCR Technical Expert to support emissions control engineering for power generation applications.
This role is focused on installed SCR and SNCR systems, NOx reduction performance, HRSG and gas turbine exhaust applications, ammonia injection, catalyst system performance, proposal support, commissioning, startup, and field troubleshooting.
The candidate must have company experience tied to installed SCR or SNCR systems. Academic SCR research alone is not sufficient unless supported by company experience with installed emissions systems, SCR engineering, catalyst systems, HRSG applications, gas turbine exhaust, commissioning, startup, or field troubleshooting.
Responsibilities include:
• Support SCR and SNCR proposals, projects, and technical evaluations for gas turbine, HRSG, combined-cycle, peaker plant, waste heat recovery, and industrial power applications.
• Review installed SCR and SNCR system designs, including catalyst arrangement, reactor configuration, ammonia or urea injection, reagent distribution, NOx reduction performance, ammonia slip, pressure drop, flue gas distribution, and operating range.
• Evaluate HRSG, ductwork, turbine exhaust, waste heat boiler, heat exchanger, and air pollution control equipment integration as it relates to SCR and SNCR system performance.
• Provide technical review of customer specifications, proposal documents, process descriptions, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layouts, supplier submittals, and project execution documents.
• Support proposal development by defining technical scope, equipment requirements, execution assumptions, design risks, supplier requirements, and customer clarification items.
• Participate in customer technical discussions, proposal reviews, bid clarification meetings, design reviews, project execution meetings, and field issue reviews.
• Coordinate with equipment suppliers, catalyst providers, ammonia or urea system suppliers, HRSG providers, engineering teams, project management, supply chain, sales, and field service teams.
• Support commissioning, startup, warranty, troubleshooting, and field performance reviews for SCR and SNCR systems and related emissions equipment.
Must-have qualifications:
• Direct company experience tied to installed SCR and/or SNCR systems.
• Prior work with an SCR engineering company, emissions equipment provider, catalyst systems company, HRSG supplier, gas turbine exhaust system provider, or power generation emissions technology organization.
• Experience with HRSG, gas turbine exhaust, combined-cycle, peaker plant, turbine exhaust ductwork, or power generation emissions applications.
• Experience with ammonia injection, urea injection, reagent distribution, catalyst performance, NOx reduction, ammonia slip, or SCR reactor performance.
• Experience supporting technical proposals, customer specifications, bid clarification, design review, or project execution for SCR, SNCR, or emissions equipment.
• Experience with commissioning, startup, warranty support, field troubleshooting, field performance review, or customer technical support for installed emissions systems.
Required qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in SCR, SNCR, emissions control, HRSGs, gas turbine exhaust, boilers, combustion systems, air pollution control equipment, or power generation process engineering.
• Working knowledge of NOx reduction technologies, SCR catalyst systems, ammonia or urea reagent systems, catalyst performance, flue gas flow distribution, and emissions system operating limits.
• Ability to review and interpret technical specifications, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment drawings, supplier documents, performance data, and customer technical requirements.
• Practical troubleshooting background with the ability to support root cause analysis, field issue resolution, design verification, and performance improvement.
