ATHLETIC COACH - High School Boys Soccer
Part-Time & Seasonal
City & State: McSherrystown, PA
School: Delone Catholic High School
PAYROLL GRADE: 13                        FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT
Position Overview:
Delone Catholic High School is seeking an enthusiastic and committed High School Boys Soccer Coach to lead and grow our soccer program in a Catholic school environment. The coach will promote athletic excellence, teamwork, and sportsmanship while supporting the spiritual, academic, and personal development of student-athletes in alignment with the mission of Catholic education.








Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices and game strategies that develop individual skills and team performance.
  • Teach fundamental and advanced soccer techniques, conditioning, and tactical awareness.
  • Foster a culture of respect, discipline, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Model and integrate Catholic values, including integrity, humility, and service, into the program.
  • Monitor and support the academic progress and well-being of student-athletes.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and state athletic association regulations.
  • Coordinate team logistics, including scheduling, travel, and supervision at games and events.
  • Maintain equipment, uniforms, and practice/game facilities.
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, faculty, and administration.
  • Support off-season training, camps, and player development opportunities as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Previous soccer coaching experience or competitive playing experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of soccer techniques, training methods, and game strategy.
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop high school student-athletes.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Completion of required clearances and background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior high school coaching experience.
  • Familiarity with state athletic association rules and regulations.
  • Experience working in a faith-based or educational setting.

Compensation:

  • Stipend based on experience and school guidelines.
