POSITION: LIBRARY PARAPROFESSIONAL
REPORTS TO: Building Principal & District Librarian
SUMMARY:
Oversees Library activities
186 days - Richmond Community Schools Non-Contractual Employee. (Aligned with Master Teacher Contractual Days)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be present, on time, and ready to work.
Manage the Library circulation program, including checking in/out books, handling interlibrary loan requests, and other circulation duties as needed.
Shelve books and keep collections organized.
Implement lesson plans supplied by the District Librarian at the elementary level.
Assist teachers and students with materials location and selection.
Assist with Library inventory and locating overdue and missing books.
Coordinate Library class activities.
Other related duties as assigned by the building principal and the District Librarian.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Computer skills required.
Possess interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy with adults and children.
Must complete training that will be available through online modules or professional development
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Post-secondary experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Be able to communicate effectively with students and staff both orally and in writing.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Basic Math Skills are needed.
REASONING ABILITY:
Must be able to problem-solve.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Have the ability to be organized and flexible.
