Job Objective:


The Student Life Operations Coordinator is a role strategically created to help engage Student Life, enhance student engagement, and provide logistical support to the Associate Dean of Student Leadership & Engagement. This position will be a leader who directs and manages daily administrative operations for Student Life, supporting departmental objectives, institutional priorities related to Student Life, and oversees a team of student workers.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Directly support and assist with the traditional undergraduate student success and retention for the University
  • Administrative & logistical support for major student events and activities as needed. (i.e. New Student Orientation, Spring and Winter Commencement; Leadership Gala, Leadership You events and application process, student organization process, and Student Leadership application processes)
  • Maintain current knowledge of the regulations, policies, and eligibility requirements for specific student activities and related programs and services.
  • Lead and manage daily office operations. Create and ensure an open, welcoming atmosphere for all students. Listen, guide, and provide excellent service to all students, families, and others.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with students and guests, addressing inquiries, and addressing general student needs.
  • Coordinate a warm, efficient, and professional reception for students, staff, and visitors, recognizing the heightened and sensitive nature of many appointments and interactions.
  • Coordinate and execute administrative responsibilities within the Student Life office, including reports and correspondence, meeting agendas, office communication, etc.
  • Monitor and manage the Student Life office environment and GCEC atrium space.
  • Manage and coordinate the hiring, training and work of office student assistants as well as evaluate performance; delegate and review assignments and projects; evaluate work products/results; establish and monitor timelines and prioritize work, establishing KPIs and measurable metrics.
  • Administer annual departmental budgets including assistance with annual budget preparation, and recommendations and justifications regarding budget requests; authorize other fund expenditures, receipts and disbursements according to policies; monitor & allocate monthly department credit card expenditures.
  • Build and maintain the Student Life website (Intranet) with valuable tools and information for students including the Student Handbook, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all information.
  • Serve as the department expert on the Student Handbook content, policies, and practices, assuring appropriate updates and improvements as needed.
  • Motivate and guide students to explore leadership opportunities and to pursue constructive and productive activities consistent with their objectives and goals.
  • Assist with the management of various department processes, such as the meal plan reduction/exemption request process and the off-campus housing application process.
  • Execute the communication schedule / plan (current students) to ensure timely updates for key university events, deadlines, compliance notices, clearance requirements and announcements.
  • Coordinate campus event calendars and assist with cross-departmental collaboration such as scheduling, communication, event promotion, and set-up, ensuring the smooth execution of these important events such as the First 40 Day event series, and student activities.
  • Work closely with relevant teams to ensure events are aligned with university goals, policies, and student needs.
  • Maintain and manage the student life email and phone system.
  • Take on special projects and tasks as assigned, contributing to ongoing improvements within Student Life operations and Student Leadership & Engagement.
The approved rate of pay is: $20.00-$21.50/hrRequirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in student engagement, residence life, or spiritual leadership.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with a pastoral, student-centered mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva, and social media tools.
