What is Scaled Agile?

Scaled Agile refers to frameworks and methodologies designed to help large organizations implement agile practices across multiple teams and departments. The most well-known example is the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), which provides structured guidance on roles, responsibilities, planning, and collaboration at scale. Scaled Agile approaches help align business strategy with execution, improve productivity, and respond to change more effectively. These frameworks are often used in enterprises to manage complex projects and deliver value quickly and consistently.

How does a professional working in a Scaled Agile environment typically collaborate with cross-functional teams?

In a Scaled Agile environment, professionals regularly collaborate with cross-functional teams through ceremonies such as PI (Program Increment) Planning, daily stand-ups, and system demos. These interactions foster transparency, align team objectives, and ensure that dependencies across teams are managed proactively. Team members often work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver value iteratively and adapt to feedback quickly. This collaborative approach encourages continuous improvement, shared responsibility, and a culture of open communication.
