Job Title: Agile Coach
Location: Gaithersburg, MD (Onsite / 9737 Washingtonian Blvd)
Duration: 6+ Months (Contract)
Pay Rate: $78.00/hr on W2

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Agile Coach to drive agile transformation and delivery excellence for a high-priority federal program. This role requires a strong change agent who can build trust with skeptical teams, influence stakeholders without direct authority, and overcome operational and cultural obstacles.
The ideal candidate has a deep background coaching within government contracting environments and a strong command of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to help guide teams through compliance, matrixed structures, and legacy processes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coaching & Mentorship: Guide cross-functional teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, RTEs, and leadership on Lean-Agile principles and servant leadership.
  • SAFe Implementation: Provide hands-on guidance for Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) practices, Agile Release Trains (ARTs), and PI Planning execution.
  • Change Management: Build credibility with resistant teams, resolve organizational impediments, and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Facilitation: Lead workshops, retrospectives, PI Planning events, and leadership engagements to drive continuous improvement.
  • Governance Alignment: Partner with program leadership to align agile practices with federal compliance, governance, and contractual delivery milestones.
  • Metrics & Reporting: Implement lean agile metrics to provide meaningful program insights without adding unnecessary administrative overhead.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: 7+ years of dedicated Agile Coaching experience, including enterprise-level transformations.
  • Domain Expertise: Proven experience coaching within Government Contracting (FedCiv/DoD) or federal environments.
  • Framework Mastery: Deep, hands-on experience implementing and coaching SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Scaled Agile Delivery: Direct experience supporting Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and facilitating PI Planning.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional facilitation, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills; proven ability to win over resistant stakeholders in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
