This well-known grain facility in Pittwood, Illinois, supports the agricultural industry and produces starch products used in food, paper, and other agro-industrial applications. This is a great opportunity for a dependable, detail-oriented individual who enjoys a fast-paced environment and wants to gain valuable experience during harvest season.

Job Type: Temporary, full-time – Harvest Season

The Scale Clerk will support daily grain facility operations by weighing incoming and outgoing trucks, recording weights and load information, completing paperwork, and assisting drivers and facility staff. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable working with computers, and able to maintain accuracy in a busy environment.

Job Duties:
  • Weigh incoming and outgoing grain trucks using the facility scale
  • Record truck weights, load information, and other transaction details accurately
  • Prepare and maintain tickets, paperwork, and other records
  • Communicate with truck drivers and facility personnel
  • Perform general clerical and housekeeping duties as needed
Pay: $16 per hour
Overtime opportunities available during harvest season

Schedule:
  • Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
  • During harvest season, employees must be flexible and available for 12-hour shifts, including extended hours as needed.
Experience or Skill Requirements:
  • Previous scale house, grain elevator, agricultural, clerical, or data entry experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally with drivers and coworkers
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work extended hours during harvest season
