What is a SCADA operator?

A SCADA operator monitors and controls industrial processes using Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. They analyze real-time data, respond to alarms, and ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment, often working in environments like power plants, water treatment facilities, or manufacturing plants. Strong technical skills and familiarity with SCADA software are essential for this role.

Can AI replace SCADA?

AI cannot fully replace SCADA operators, as human oversight is essential for managing complex systems, responding to unexpected events, and making critical decisions. However, AI can assist in data analysis, anomaly detection, and automation of routine tasks within SCADA environments. Operators need to understand both SCADA systems and AI tools to effectively enhance system performance and safety.
