Job description

Job Announcement:
The City of Webster's Public Works Department is accepting applications for the position of Water Operator. This position ensures the efficient operation of the City's water supply. This is accomplished by operating and monitoring the water plants and water distribution systems. Other duties may include maintenance of the water plants and water distribution systems, inspecting new construction and interfacing with other City employees and citizens. This position does not provide direction to other employees.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
  • Class "C" Water Operator License from TCEQ
  • Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License
  • Preferred Class "C" Wastewater Operator License from TCEQ

Special Requirements:
This is an essential services position, and the employee will be required to provide services in the course and scope of employment for the benefit of the general public during emergency situations that threaten the safety of Webster's citizens. Federal Emergency Management [FEMA] training may be required within six (6) months of hire.
