Job description

Compensation
$27.58 - $37.13

Summary
Maintain and update GLWA's Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, including the Ovation System, Controllers, Network hardware, Servers and Workstation, A-B Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), Operator Interface Terminals (OIT), Local Area Network/Wide Area Network, workstations, printers, and related IT infrastructure to ensure secure and uninterrupted operations. Design, develop, document, coordinate, and implement changes to the SCADA system to support operational changes and engineering projects. Work with operations and/or IT Support staff to identify and repair faults within the SCADA Systems.
Job Responsibilities
• Maintain and repair 900 MHZ radio equipment
• Monitor and replace Programmable Logic Controls (PLC), Ovation, and Human Machine Interface (HMI)
• Provide support and identify issues for the Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Workstations, printers, and other related hardware
• Load and unload various materials manually and using motorized equipment
• Monitor and maintain Programmable Logic Controls (PLC)
• Perform maintenance and daily check activities
• Assist in more complex work under leadership from a higher-level SCADA Technician
• Analyze, diagnose, and perform corrective action in response to SCADA alarms
• Provide support for the planning and scheduling of the work orders with the team leader
• Maintain the interfaces with transducers, process controllers, PCS, sonar level sensors, and handheld communication devices, and install and upgrade operational software
• Identify issues and troubleshoot problems with the systems
• Assist in the replacement of the PLC module, processor, controller, or OIT, and reload the configuration to return the system to full operation
• Perform equipment inspections and service
• Provide on-the-job training
• Perform work-related duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience
At the time of application, applicant must:
  • High School Diploma or GED

AND
  • A minimum of two (2) years of SCADA system maintenance or an equivalent combination of education and experience

OR
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician with PLC and other logic program experience

AND
  • Basic skills in MS SQL, Visual and database structure, and stored procedures

Other Requirements
  • Valid Michigan Driver's License
  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle on all terrain

Environmental Working Requirements:
May work in an office, plant, or field environment. This position requires the ability to work in all conditions involving exposure to outside elements and seasonal weather.
