Join Our Team

The Beasley Group is seeking motivated individuals to join our sawmill team in Hazlehurst as a Stacker Apprentice. This is an excellent opportunity to start a hands-on career in the lumber industry with a company committed to safety, training, and long-term employee growth.


Position Overview

Stacker Apprentice is responsible for learning the safe and efficient stacking, sorting, and handling of lumber in a fast-paced sawmill environment. This entry-level role provides on-the-job training and a clear path to advancement within mill operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Stack and sort lumber by size, grade, and production requirements
  • Ensure boards are aligned properly and prevent jams in the stacking system
  • Monitor lumber flow from sawmill equipment to maintain efficiency
  • Remove defective or damaged boards to support quality standards
  • Assist with banding, tagging, and preparing finished bundles
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment (housekeeping duties)
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions

Preferred:

  • High school diploma or GED, but no required.
  • Previous experience in a sawmill, manufacturing, or labor role
