Job description

Southeast Forest Products is seeking experienced Machine Operators for multiple positions to join our new Louisville Sawmill facility. We are looking for dependable, motivated workers who are dedicated to safety, teamwork, and professionalism. We pride ourselves on being an innovative leader in the lumber industry and seek to add only the best to our growing team.

  • Debarker Operator
  • Edger and Resaw Operator
  • Stacker Operator
  • Log Cut-up Operator
  • Planer Operator
  • Optimizer / Trimmer Operator
  • Dry Kiln Operator

Job Responsibilities
  • Promoting a safe work environment by keeping the work area clean and organized
  • Learning and performing multiple operator functions within the facility
  • Cross training on production equipment and mobile equipment to provide coverage for vacancies, absences, etc.
  • Learning to apply work processes and understand how they lead to increase productivity while reducing the waste of unusable products.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least (2) years of experience operating industrial or manufacturing equipment
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift, holidays, weekends and overtime if necessary
  • Must be willing to work in a hot, humid, cold and loud industrial environment
  • Must be willing and able to lift material up to 50 lbs. routinely
  • Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing for up to (12) hours per day
  • Completely and accurately fill out daily paperwork
  • Follow all Safety Programs, Policies and Procedures
  • Must be willing and able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) (i.e. hard hats safety glasses, steel-toed boots ear plugs and any other PPE that is required that may be job specific)
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and random drug tests after hiring
