Interns often work alongside experienced mill operators and maintenance staff, learning about safety procedures, equipment upkeep, and quality control. The role typically involves both indoor and outdoor tasks, and you’ll have opportunities to collaborate with production teams, supervisors, and sometimes even sales or logistics personnel. This exposure provides a valuable foundation for understanding the lumber industry and can help clarify potential career paths within manufacturing or operations.
