Saw Operator - Standard Iron (Sauk Centre, MN)
Standard Iron is a trusted leader in contract manufacturing with over 90 years of experience. We are looking for a skilled Saw Operator to join our production team in Sauk Centre. In this role, you will be a key part of our manufacturing process, ensuring raw materials are precisely cut to support our fabrication and welding teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Saw Operation & Setup: Set up and operate industrial saws (such as band saws or CNC-controlled saws) to cut steel tubing, plate, and other metal materials to precise specifications.
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpret engineering prints and work orders to determine required dimensions, material types, and production sequences.
  • Material Handling: Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes to load/unload raw material or bundles onto next production stage.
  • Quality Control: Can use precision tools like calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to verify that all cuts meet strict tolerances and quality standards.
  • Maintenance: Perform daily preventative maintenance on equipment, including cleaning and replacing worn saw blades.
  • Safety & Organization: Adhere to all OSHA safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Qualifications
  • Technical Skills: Proven ability to read and interpret technical blueprints or part drawings.
