Job description

Provides the finishing cuts and trims on all processed goods. The Panel Saw Operator successfully cuts wood material as well as foam for finished material goods per product specification. Cut material efficiently and with the best optimization required for the yield needed. The operator will identify damaged or incorrect materials before cutting.


Responsibilities and Duties


  • Producing high-quality finished goods and ensuring efficient and safe machine operation

  • Inspecting equipment and performing basic adjustments and preventative maintenance when needed

  • Following all Company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

  • Develop and recommend process improvements

  • Set up and operate the equipment. Input measurements and data into the CNC panel saw.

  • Read drawings or blueprints.

  • Assists in other production areas when needed.

  • Equipment: Forklift, Panel saw, Glue press, Table saw, Sander


Qualifications


  • Demonstrated ability to operate machinery

  • Must be able to stand for long hours and be able to lift at or above the waist at a maximum of seventy pounds

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing setting or a related position.

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • A great sense of humor

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple duties/projects at one time

  • Work independently with minimal supervision and resolve conflict in a professional manner.

  • Ability to operate computers (or learn to do so)


Work Environment: Employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock, and vibration. Noise Level: Medium Loud


Position Type/Hours of Work: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Required Education and Experience


  • High School Diploma/GED
