Part-Time Sample Department Assistant

Wholesale Distributor of Building Materials

Reports To: Sample Department Manager | Location: On-site in Pennsauken, NJ | Schedule: Part-Time, Mon-Fri

Since 1890, Fessenden Hall has been a trusted name in building materials distribution. We are a wholesale distributor specializing in casework, millwork, and countertop materials-including Wilsonart Engineered Surfaces such as laminate, solid surface, and quartz materials.

Compensation

We value our team members at every level. Part-time positions are compensated fairly for the skills and time you contribute.

Pay Rate: $16.00 - 18.00 per hour

Hours: Monday through Friday, 3โ€“4 hours per day (9am or 10am start, finishing by 1pm or 2pm) โ€ข 12โ€“15 hours per week

Position Overview

Part-Time Sample Department Assistant: As a part-time assistant in our Sample Department, you will support daily operations and gain real-world exposure to the materials used in architecture and interior design.

What You'll Do

General Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill daily sample requests from customers and sales representatives
  • Package samples for pick-up by sales representatives or for shipment
  • Maintain and organize sample areas and sample kits
  • Utilize UPS shipping software to process outgoing shipments
  • Use time clock software to log hours accurately

What We're Looking For

Education & Background:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • No prior industry experience required.

Requirements:

  • On-site position at our Pennsauken, NJ location (not remote)
  • Reliable and punctual: Consistent availability Monday through Friday during scheduled hours.
  • Lifting: Must be able to regularly lift and carry objects and supplies weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Mobility/Climbing: Must be able to ascend and descend flights of stairs while carrying items

Start Date:

  • The ideal candidate will be available to begin in early September.
