SAMPLE SUPERVISOR
JOB DUTIES SUMMARY
Organizational Summary:
  • Projects a favorable image of IWT's initiatives. Promotes and supports company objectives to reflect a positive recognition of the company's directives.
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster a cooperative and unified environment conducive to maximizing employee morale, productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Supervisory:
  • Motivate, organize, and encourage teamwork within the Sample Department by working with Sample Techs to ensure set productivity and fulfillment targets are met.
  • Maintain Sample Techs by assisting with interviewing, selecting, orientation, and training employees.
  • Develop Sample Techs by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
  • Plan, monitor and appraise job results. Train Sample Techs and monitor their performance and progress.
Warehouse and Sanitation:
  • Maintain physical condition of Sample Department area by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, issuing requisitions for repair, and generating requisitions for replacement as required.
  • Ensure daily housekeeping schedules are completed.
Fulfillment:
  • Ensure Fulfillment goals are attained by Fulfillment Sample Techs. Ensure orders are correctly picked, packed, labeled, and brought to shipping area. Ensure quality assurance program is in place to ensure order accuracy, and that Sample Techs are held accountable for accuracy.
  • Provide retraining for Sample Techs exceeding order error and/or missing production standards.
  • Ensure walk-in sales team members are immediately serviced and sample orders built quickly.
Inventory Control:
  • Control inventory levels by ensuring inventory sample counts are performed at scheduled times, researching inventory discrepancies, taking actions to prevent future discrepancies, and reconciling data with the Order Entry Team.
Administrative:
  • Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Analyze inventory, orders, and shipping discrepancies for causes and take actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Safety and Security:
  • Safeguard Sample Department operations by establishing and monitoring safety procedures and protocol.
  • Work with HR Executive Manager to ensure safety procedures are in place and enforced.
  • Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards.
  • Provide forklift training to Sample Techs as required before forklift operations are allowed.
Additional Job Duties
  • Keep Sample Department Manager and the Sample Department Assistant Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and take prompt corrective action or suggest courses of action which may be taken to achieve favorable resolutions.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
Essential Job Requirements:
  • Advanced technological skills and proficiency in Microsoft programs with the capacity to expand knowledge to accounting/inventory/warehouse software and reporting.
  • Organizational skills necessary.
Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree from a four-year college or university or 4 years experience in related field of expertise.
Experience:
  • Experience supervising, coaching, and developing staff.
  • Minimum 3 years warehouse management experience.
Required Skills:
  • Works well with management, peers and subordinates.
  • Ability to communicate and conduct themselves professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts at all times.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, stand and sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs. Ideally be able to lift up to 50lbs, but not required.
