Their work helps organizations automate processes, enhance customer relationship management, and leverage the full capabilities of Salesforce.

What does a Salesforce developer do?

As a Salesforce developer, your duties are to work as part of a development team to code software or application solutions on the Salesforce platform or another piece of Salesforce cloud technology. You typically develop these projects on behalf of other businesses, tailoring development to their needs. These solutions may include new storage architecture, effective strategies to distribute data across a business enterprise network, or innovative methods to create more efficient CRM workflow. Your responsibilities also require you to work closely with QA workers and end users to test solutions and ensure that they meet specifications.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Salesforce developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Salesforce Developer, you need a solid understanding of Salesforce platform features, Apex programming, Lightning components, and a relevant degree or Salesforce certifications like Salesforce Platform Developer I/II. Experience with Salesforce development tools such as Visual Studio Code, Salesforce CLI, and version control systems is typically required.
